What is Pride of Workmanship?

Commencing in 1976 ‘The Pride of Workmanship Awards Program’ is an approved Rotary program commenced in 1976 by the Rotary Club of Pennant Hills (Australia, District 9685).

This award is to celebrate the contributions of employees who have been identified by their employers of embodying the motto of Pride of Workmanship – Do it One, Do it Well Build a Better Australia. This is an Australian Rotary initiative that has been adopted by clubs not just in Australia but New Zealand, the South Pacific, Malaysia, Canada and the United States.

Pride of Workmanship is not a competition but a recognition of individual achievement and commitment of an employee regardless of age or vocation who display outstanding qualities and covers all aspects of work performance and ethics inclusive of such characteristics as quality and quantity of output, safety, sense of responsibility, initiative and so on.

Each year the Rotary Club of Biloela invites local businesses to nominate an employee for a Pride of Workmanship award. The Club covers the cost of the nominee and their respective partner for the dinner and encourages their family and peers to attend and celebrate with them.
